July 21 - 1st week in Los Vilos

I will answer a lot of your questions. The nights are good.  I have enough blankets. In the days, the wind blows here like it does in Wyoming.  It is crazy. You don’t need to send me anything.  Really, I am good, but if you do have hand sanitizer it would be nice. Like in the little bottles. Send under armor bottoms, ear muffs and a little pair of gloves.  Also peach rings, peanut bars and peanuts. I have been craving them.  That would be nice.  Thanks so much. I have a question for you.  How is it being empty nesters?  Without me there, is it one big party? It sounds like you are super busy all the time.  That’s cool about grandpas fishing pole.

Chile is different. We had a conference in the north and that is like desert.  In Los Vilos where I am, you have the ocean.  At the conference there was a seventy here.  I had to read a scripture in Spanish in front of everyone.  That was a little scary.

It was Elder Tousely who got robbed and he took it off (as I am typing this for Tyson, I am not sure what he took off) to show the guy which he shouldn’t have done. Then the robber just grabbed it from him.   That is cool about the temple with Dillon. I wish i could lose five pounds like Travis, but right now I want to keep it on in a few months.  I can lose it in the summer.  The language is super hard right now.  I can understand a little more than I could just coming here, but it coming very slowly.  My apartment is small, but it’s fine.  We cleaned today cause it’s bad.  Next week I will have to clean the floor with my hands and a sponge because there is no mop, buts it’s good.  We get everywhere on a bus that is for the missionaries which is super nice because then you don’t have to pay.  We taught a lady this week with a ton of faith, and she wants to be baptized.  We just need her to come to church.  She believes so strong in the bible.  Hopefully she reads the Book of Mormon too.  Yes we eat breakfast by ourselves. The members feed us lunch everyday and then we don’t eat dinner. The plane ride here was good.  It was like eight hours from Mexico to here.  Then it was like a two hour bus ride to Vina. Then it was two more hours to Los Villos. I have had to rely on the lord in more ways than ever before.  Sometimes I get frustrated pretty bad, but then I calm done.  It’s super hard sometimes.  I met Elder Bush at the conference.  He was in the same position I was in four months ago.  He helped me a lot and that was nice.  I got to pray in English last night because a member wanted to see how hers was. It was super nice. Hope you have a good week.

Love,

Elder Gillies
