Farewell to President & Sister Kahnlein

This week we couldn't really find our people that we are teaching,  but we are trying to look for new people that can be ready for baptism. I know they are out there, we just have to find them.  With the "Cup of America"going on, it makes it harder, but Chile is still in the game and it will be done this week. So it was fun to see everyone dressed up, but no one will let you in when the game is on.

It sounds like you had fun with Boston and Trey.  They sound like they are busy and that everything is good.  I got to go to a good-bye thing in the stake yesterday for Brother & Sister Kahnlein. They are leaving in two days.  The card I had to write was for President Diaz, the new mission president. So here we go again.  The farewell party was good.  They had a lot of music and a little video of Christ and then they bore their testimony at the end. I think they were sad to go, but I think happy at the same time.  It is not an easy calling to have.

We had to give a lot of blessings this week. There is a girl in the ward who is having a difficult time because her dad is giving her a hard time about going on her mission and all that.  So I am glad I didn't have that problem.  I have always had your support.  Elder Zabellos should come and speak to us on the 13th of July, but I don't know for sure. I probably won't know until the day before or a few days before. I had exchanges with Elder Horton, my companion, from the CCM. It was good to be with him again. It was a huge difference from the CCM and fun to see the progression we've made. It's weird. Some days are cold and others are fine. It doesn't get light here until about nine-thirty in the morning, so it's interesting. The alarm goes off and it seems like four in the morning. I am doing good.  Good luck with your new calling Mom.  Have a good week.

Didn't Get Transferred

So this week went fine.  In the package you are getting ready to send, I can't think of anything I would need besides the foot pads.  Thanks a ton. To answer your question, I am not spending too much time on the book of Revelations.  I am also reading the Book of Mormon everyday, but I always have some time left over.  I read in the morning or at night and read some of the the other books too.

So both my companion and I stayed and didn't get transferred. I was shocked, but it was good. So my companion will finish his mission with me. That will be the first time that any of my companions have ended their mission with me. So the next transfer, I will have been in Con Con almost eight months unless there is a white wash.

We had a harder time finding our investigators this week. Nobody was ever home.  So we couldn't get all the teaching in to get them ready for baptism. This week with Maria Cristina and Jiem, things still haven't calmed down with them. They both got mad and then said, "Fine, lets just get a divorce." Since we were there, I don't know what they are going to do but it was not a good week.  The cup of America has been going on for a while and all the people are really in to that, so it's been interesting to find anyone to teach.  There was an activity where they had a movie on the projector with completos??  We went for like ten minutes. Then we left.

In a few weeks there will be a meeting with Elder Zebalos, the one who talked in general conference in April.  I think he should be here in a week or two.  Thanks for the update on the MBA  finals. That was a surprise that the Warriors won.  I an glad they did. Now i don't have to hear anything from Saylem and Dillon about LeBron, so that is good!

So Winter is here and it's a little cold, but not nearly as bad as last year. I don't think it will be anything like last year. This apartment is warmer then the house I had in Los Vilos, so that helps too. Elder Horton, my MTC companion, just got transfefred to the other side of Con Con, I haven't seen him for a year, so no I might get to see him some time soon.   Thanks for the updates, Have a good week.

Elder GIllies

Jessinina's Engagement

O.k.,  so I hope all the Dads have a Happy Fathers Day this week.  I got your package so thanks a ton. I don't know how you do it, but you are like reading my mind with the ear muffs and all that stuff in the package, so thanks a ton. That sounds like way to many snakes for me that you have seen in Stone.  Dad, is there a way you know to understand the book of Revelations better?

This week was good. I was going to tell you thanks for telling me so may times to not to have a girl friend on your mission. My comp has one and they had some problems. So the last few weeks have been harder, but today he got good news so everything should be good with him. I really hope I don't get transferred. I hope my comp doesn't go either. I would like to be the one he finishes the mission with, but if someone goes, I understand that too. This week I got some of the best news that i could get on my mission from Jessinia. Guess what? She is getting married to a return missionary in the ward. They are going to be sealed in a year, like in March or April. So I hope everything goes good. I was literally on cloud nine when they said that. I couldn't believe it. It was really cool, and I am going to have to beg the new president, if everything goes good, to see if I can attend that because I would still be in Chile. That would be really cool to attend that of a convert. So prayers for a year that everything goes really good. That was the biggest news of the week. We are getting close to the baptism of Pactirco and Amaro. His mom is here, so hopefully we can get it all figured out so he can get baptized this week.

With Angelica, it was bad. We go to a Noche de Hogar and the lady is ticked. Her name is Maria. Angelica told her all this stuff that wasn't true about her husband. So I felt like I was on Doctor Phil all night and it was all because of Angelica's lies that about broke up a marriage. So that wasn't good. So I don't now if we can teach her anymore, but everything is good. I guess if you see the picture of transfers on Wednesday, then you will know that one of us got transferred. Have a good week.

Hump Day

In the package that I sent, it should say the names on the back of the pictures that I sent for Molly and Boston.  The coat that I sent is going to be my new golfing coat.  I found it a while back for dirt cheap, so I got it. I think it's like dads under armor that repels the rain, so that will be good.

Last week Jessenia moved from our sector so that is where we were last week that I couldn't email.  I didn't like moving the only convert here to the other sector.  Now we will only get to see her on Sundays to see how she is doing. I might get transferred next week anyway, so it might not even matter.  So we had to move all her stuff last week and then my companion had a interview in Vina. So that shot the whole day, so I didn't have any time to write.

This week we had Patrico attend church so that was really cool. He should get baptized this month. He is a huge guy and the member that is his friend is like, "I am going to baptize you." His friend is like five foot and one hundred thirty pounds. Pactrico is like six foot, 260 pounds, so he is a big guy. In a weird way, he kinda looks like Uncle Glen. He is so funny in what he does.  He is a good guy.  So do you remember Angelica that almost got baptized a few months ago?  So we set another date for her baptism.  Then the next day she like flipped out on my companion, so I don't know if we can keep teaching her if she is going to be like that. She is nuts.

This week I got sick with a bad cold, so that was not a fun time. I am slowly getting over it.  The nights are not too fun when its cold, and I go from really cold to hot and so forth. Thanks for telling me you got the package that I sent.  Tell Grandpa Showell Happy Birthday for me.  Please have a good week.  Tell me who wins the finals, please and thanks.

I forgot to tell you that I found out some of my investigators were cousins that have lived together and have had children together.  So that was interesting!  I don't know what to do with that, but I guess we will find out.  We had to call the mission president and he is looking up stuff.  The things that happens on my mission!

Elder Gillies

No Time to Write

O.K.  I am  really, really sorry, but today wasn't even like a p-day and we are out of time. I had time to write my mission president like three lines and you this short letter.  So next week I will have more time.  The conference was good.  The picture I sent last week of me in the blue jacket was just a jacket in the store and I just tried it on. Tell Megan Happy Birthday for me.  Also tell Casey and Micah congratulations on getting sealed in the temple. That is really cool. This week just went by so fast, especially today. At least my next letter will seem really long, because this one is so short. I am doing good.  My testimony is growing everyday. The more my testimony grows, the more my hair falls out!   I have been doing good. Sorry about the short letter. I  love you. Have  a good week.  Oh yeah, I sent a package, so tell me when you get it please. Love you and thanks!
