June 24, 2014 - 3rd Week at CCM

Family, To answer your questions, there is no air conditioning in the building, not even in the auditorium. It is so hot. I roast like a toasted cheezer all day. We only have to wear our suits on Sundays and Tuesdays at the devotionals. The Spanish, well....I am the slow kid in class which is super hard for me because I have always been right up there at the top so that is a hard thing for me. I know not to compare, but it is hard not too. I am glad the Spurs won, that way I won't get crap and the Heat won't three beat. It sounds like you are staying busy with things down there. That's crazy that you still got snow last week. Everything is so mild down here. It's like a 20 degree difference and the only time it drops is when it is raining. I did get to go out to the visitor center which I needed very much to get outside the walls and it was way cool to see the city. Driving down here is crazy and all the shops are so weird, but some places are nice. But for the most part, pretty ghetto. The picture...I don't known when Sister Jones will be taking it, so it should be there in the new few weeks. I have seen Levi some. Today when we were out, there were all these shacks with satellite dishes on them which is pretty funny. There were chickens on top of the roofs, but I don't think they used them for eggs. My guess would be chicken fights because there was a ton of them. They wouldn't let you go on the temple grounds with the remodeling, but I did take some pictures but not very many. Tell Saylem if you see him that he was supposed to tell me where he was going on his mission. That little punk. The other two have sent me emails, but not him. I think he may be afraid that I will give him crap about the Heat game. We found some new latino friends to play soccer with again so that will be fun when we get the chance. Do you know how I can send pictures from my camera on the mail because I have no idea how to do it. When is Travis' farewell. Is it this week? That will be crazy. We will be out in the field the same time and honestly I would take the grad school over this because at least you know what you are reading. I just stare and pray that something will make sense. Who was the MVP of the finals and how are Red Sox doing? Hopefully better than when I left. It seems the time is really going pretty fast. The beginning of the weeks fly by, but the end kinda drags a little, but not too bad. Today in the visitors center, this girl said her Grandpa was a Roger Gillies. Would we have any relation to him? I wasn't sure, but I thought I would ask. We teach our fake investigators and we taught two lessons and at first I didn't know where were going, but then by the end it set up perfectly for the third which was super cool to see how the Lord works. I don't know much other than that so have a good week and have fun. Love, Elder Gillies
